Website Security
Transport Layer Security (TLS), the successor of the now-deprecated Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), is a cryptographic protocol designed to provide communications security over a computer network. Running Room uses TLS 1.2 and above only for communication. Running Room only allows secure connections to the websites.
Running Room also employs various methods to protect the servers from nefarious users trying to gain access to personal information.
Password protection:
All Running Room account passwords are cryptographically protected using a highly secure encryption algorithm.
What is cryptographically protection?
Passwords are never stored in an unaltered state (plain Text). It passes through a very strong encryption algorithm and undergoes other alterations that prevent it from being decrypted making it highly secure against many types of password cracking attacks.
How can I make it stronger?
Passwords can still be acquired in other ways if you are logging in from a public Wifi or in a public space. If you frequent such areas, it is recommended that you change passwords regularly and not reuse previously used passwords.
Don’t use words for your password and make it at least 8 characters in length. Choose random characters or use one of the many password generators such as the LastPass generator.
Security of Systems
Running Room follows best practices to ensure servers are maintained and with the latest updates and patches. We monitor vendor alerts for critical security issues and take all necessary actions. Users are assigned only the access required for their work and user access is revoked when no longer required.
