Sized big, don't see the magic

I found these were sized larger than expected. I'm happy in a Medium of just about everything my entire life, and these are big on me. I'm generally a 32" waist. Without the right fit, these don't really have great appeal for me. I was hoping to find something for marathon runs and I don't think these are it. I've only gone as far as 12k in these so far, while no chaffing or specific discomfort to speak of yet, they don't seem as mythologically the greatest underwear in the world that some reviews and descriptions seem to bestow upon them.Ratings
